Stitch abcess Update!

Hi all. Went to the surgeons offce this morning. Hubs took me. Surgeon says it is healing well. That I shouldnt need a follow up, just to keep doing what I am doing. Pain should keep minimizing. I also found out that in every port site, there are stitches at the muscle. That it could happen again. My scar near my belly button is getting lumpy, so I am watching it. I am still taking it easy, I was told that Curves, still might be to much. I will probably go walking when hubs gets home.

Hello all. I wanted to update everyone, what had been going on with me over the last couple of weeks. I posted this stuff on my WLS Diva thread. So I am going to copy it here.Hi all. I have a hurry-up appt tomorrow with my surgeons office. My incision scar on the left hand side has did a weird thing. I am concerned as well as my PCP. They stuff a needle and drained a little bit of puss yesterday. So I go in tomorrow for the surgeon/Nurse ARNP to take a look and make a call on what to do. I am going to post 3 pics. Has anyone dealt with this before. It is not a hernia. I had a needle inserted on monday and it cut open yesterday...see link for pics.

Then yesterday, I went to my appt in morning. I had bacteria in scar thingy. According to stuff sucked out on Monday. The nurse felt it was a good idea for me to see a surgeon. Well he thought I had a infection within Hemotoma(under scar). His 2nd thought was that it was a Stitch Abcess. He was right. He cut it open and cleaned and drained it out. Then he packed it. The stitch had bacteria on it and was slowly coming to the surface. It would of burst open, of not tended to. The stitch was holding my muscles together, it was a permanent stitch and I didn't need it anymore, so he took it out. He dug around inside and poked and prodded. I am in some pain. Hubs had to take a half day off.

I cryed my eyes out when the doctor changes the packing. I got some more Dilaudid for pain and to take one pill an hour before dressing change. Hubs went to work late and will be working till 7 or 8pm. Today is his birthday and I didnt even get a chance to get him a card. I figure I will make him one.
